Consultancy
Our Consultancy service is focused on assisting health systems to identify their weaknesses, strengths and opportunities, with a view to utilizing their available resources to optimize the services they provide.
For this purpose we help our clients to develop clinical audit tools sensitive to their particular needs, train them in the use of these tools and can also be available to be retained as their external auditors.
‘Clinical audit involves systematically looking at the procedures used for diagnosis, care and treatment, examining how associated resources are used and investigating the effect care has on the outcome and quality of life for the patient’(Department of Health, 1993)
Clinical Audit tools are the procedures that allow Clinical Audit to be effectively carried out. These can be standardised, or specifically developed tools, designed to meet the local needs of a particular health system.
At BPS Healthcare we provide training in the use of Clinical Audit tools and can facilitate the development of specific tools in the following areas:

Diagnostic & Treatment Procedures
We have also developed Evidence-based treatment protocols and Diagnostic algorithms that are suitable for use in primary care, which will soon be downloadable from this website. Clinical Audit tools that promote good practices in diagnostic and treatment procedures can aid clinicians, working in primary care settings, especially in rural areas to be able to offer standardised evidence-based care to their users.
Patient Satisfaction
The effectiveness of clinical services provided is best monitored using outcome measures such as Patient satisfaction and Quality of life feedback. These tools are important in helping the health providers to identify areas where they need to improve on in order to improve on the outcome measures.
Accreditation
We are developing standardized evaluation tools that can be used in the accreditation procedures, especially at the primary care level and for private sector health providers. These tools will enable health systems to identify their areas of weakness and strengths as it relates to their local and region guidelines for clinical good practice.

Quality Assurance
Given that Clinical Audit is an effective quality assurance mechanism; our company aims to empower its client health systems with the clinical audit skills and tools with which they can continuously improve on the quality of care they provide to their clients.
